Gold Calculator – Estimate Your Gold Value

Know My Gold is a gold information and utility platform powered by CMG – Cash My Gold. Use its existing Gold Value Calculator to explore an indicative jewellery value before discussing a sale with CMG.

An estimate before a valuation

A gold calculator helps you understand how weight, purity and a reference rate relate to one another. It is useful when comparing pieces of jewellery, checking an old purchase invoice or preparing questions for a buyer. The result is a starting point, not confirmation of what a buyer will pay.

Know My Gold remains a separate website. CMG does not duplicate its calculator here: the Calculate My Gold Value link takes you to knowmygold.com, where you can use the existing tool and consult its rate information.

What to have ready

Look for the jewellery weight on an invoice, a reliable scale reading and any purity information supplied with the item. Record each piece separately when a collection contains different karats. A ring, chain and coin may not all have the same gold content.

  • Weight in grams, with the unit checked carefully.
  • Purity or karat, such as 22K, 18K or 14K; unknown purity needs testing.
  • Whether the stated weight includes gemstones, enamel or other non-gold parts.
  • The rate basis and unit shown by the calculator, rather than a price copied without context.

Why jewellery weight is not pure-gold weight

A 10 gram piece of 18K gold alloy does not contain 10 grams of pure gold. At a nominal 75% purity, 10 grams of net alloy contains approximately 7.5 grams of gold. Stones, fastenings made from other materials and decorative components may reduce the net metal weight further.

Do not remove stones or use damaging home tests to produce a number for the calculator. If the invoice does not separate components, treat the estimate as provisional and ask a valuer to explain the measured net weight.

From calculator result to a CMG offer

An actual purchase assessment uses verified weight and purity, the applicable buying rate and the details of the item. Making charges paid when the jewellery was bought are not the same as recoverable gold value. Ask for a breakdown rather than assuming a retail replacement price equals a resale offer.

For an in-person assessment, contact CMG’s Indore MG Road or Ahmedabad Nikol branch. CMG’s gold valuation and gold buying pages explain the services separately from this general calculator introduction.

Frequently asked questions

Is this calculator hosted on CMG?

No. The links open the existing calculator platform at https://knowmygold.com in the same tab. Know My Gold is powered by CMG – Cash My Gold.

Can I use a total jewellery weight from my invoice?

You can use it for a provisional estimate, but check whether that weight includes stones or other non-gold parts. Final valuation requires verified net metal weight.

Does a calculator result guarantee my selling price?

No. The result is indicative. Verified weight, purity, the applicable buying rate and the buyer’s assessment determine a purchase offer.

What if I do not know the purity?

Avoid selecting a karat just from the jewellery’s colour. Ask CMG about purity testing; an assumed karat can substantially change your estimate.
